Ukrainian wheat industry revenue significantly impacted, revenue gained from the sale of this grain effectively contributing to funding Russian war activities.
This work will verify the origin grain shipped from Ukraine and Russia along with surrounding countries – such a comprehensive origin wheat database provides us with the capability to verify country of origin.
Details (what research has been carried out?).
We will analyze the chemical composition of Ukrainian grain samples, which are made up of trace elements, isotopes, chemicals, and molecules. These markers come from the underlying geology, the soil in which plants grow, and the water used, and they can differ significantly even within short distances.
Each sample and its corresponding location of origin will have a unique chemical fingerprint allocated to it, which will be held in a Provenance Database that will be used as a reference point when seeking verification of provenance for grain samples trying to enter the market.
How much value has been brought to the economy?
Labelling Ukranian wheat as Russian means it is then subject to sanctions and tarrifs so this isnt the issue, it is the significant volumes of wheat stolen and a massive global demand.
